Xbox at Gamescom is off the Hook!
I was about to write a piece on crackdown 3, as the first game was amazing, the second was too linear but the fact the third was going back to it's full open world gameplay with fully destructible buildings well I'm hooked. I just have that penchant for destruction and seeing how much damage, mayhem and chaos I can cause in a single game. But then The full announcement of what Xbox are going to do, all I can say is sony you are ice skating up hill to compete.

Scalebound
The first of course is Crackdown 3 the massive open world shooter. Honoring the classic, open-world Crackdown experience adored by fans, Crackdown 3 is bringing you a 4-person co-operative campaign enhanced with a new dynamic story, cutting-edge weapons and vehicles, enemies you’ll love to hate – and of course, tons of orbs to collect!
Crackdown 3 will also deliver a groundbreaking competitive multiplayer mode, where everything is physical thanks to the Microsoft Cloud. Harness 20 times the power of your Xbox One to unleash 100 percent destructible environments for the first time ever in gaming and create your own explosive stories in the process. Developed by Dave Jones and his UK-based studio Reagent Games – the minds behind the original Crackdown and Grand Theft Auto. So you know it's in good hands of an open world master.
The next is Scalebound being developed by Platinum games I already posted about them today with Transformers devastation and it's the same studio behind Bayonetta. Well as part of their partnership with Microsoft they have announced a huge fantasy RPG in the shape of Scalebound. Though this is a step from their usual linear style gameplay and embraces the open world. It is hard to see how a company like platinum games can go wrong. Many of their games have been sleeper hits and tend to get rave reviews from critic and audience alike. Scalebound is going to impress. President and CEO of Platinum Games Tatsuya Minami Said "This is a title of firsts for us at PlatinumGames: our first title on the Xbox One and our first title as a developer in partnership with Microsoft.
Our motto at PlatinumGames is to continue making games in Japan for gamers around the world. We are incredibly grateful for this excellent opportunity to work on a project with a publisher from the US, Microsoft, and we are very pleased to have made this announcement together.
I want gamers to know that PlatinumGames is taking on the challenge presented by the current generation and will use the full power of the Xbox One as a cutting-edge console. I promise that Scalebound will be a game that gives users around the world the ultimate in surprises and smiles." With their track record I'm sure there will be plenty of both.
