Jedrek Tyler was a direct ancestor of the one man able to make contact with a daimon known as The Prophet during the first annihilation of humankind. Embracing the Prophet's guidance as his destiny, Tyler rose against the Sovereign, but the world still went down a path of destruction. After a fatal battle, the Prophet retrieved Tyler’s body, putting him into a long-term cold sleep. In order to survive such a state, and give him another chance at life, the Prophet had to implant large quantities of both lamina and herald tissue into Tyler's body, transforming him into the Red Dragon -- far different from the Jedrek Tyler that he once was.
